The all-timber Black & White Building!
14th Sep 2021One of our very favourite projects - for TOG (The Office Group) - has reached a significant milestone with completion of the timber frame.
The all-timber structure is TOG’s latest major development we are delivering and a first for highly-sustainable, mass timber office construction in the UK. Consisting of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) beams and columns, a structural timber core and cross laminated timber (CLT) floors and walls, the building also incorporates a timber composite curtain walling system.
Designed by Waugh Thistleton Architects, Eckersley O'Callaghan, EEP - Environmental Engineering Partnership, built by Mid Group Ltd and Hybrid Structures, the building has been estimated to achieve embodied carbon emissions well within the 2030 LETI target for office buildings.
