Southwark

Minerva House is a 140,000 sq. ft. office building prominently located on the Southbank of the River Thames, between Grade 1 listed Southwark Cathedral and the Golden Hinde.

GPE are undertaking a sensitive refurbishment of this landmark property to create a highly sustainable building that remains respectful to the local environment and conservation area, whilst meeting the changing needs of office occupiers. The proposed redevelopment includes refurbishment of existing office space and a new extension, in addition to the introduction of ground floor retail and an integrated public realm.

Opera are appointed as project managers, leading a project team that consists of Ben Adams Architects, Gardiner & Theobald, HTS and Hoare Lea, to deliver a design led building that targets net zero carbon and maximises operational efficiency, with SMART technologies, BREEAM and WELL principles applied. Multiplex have been appointed to provide early engagement through Stage 4 design, with construction anticipated to start in June 2023.
